What is Stock Photography ?
Stock photography is photography that can be licensed for use in:
- advertisements, in print or on the web;
- books, magazines, newsletters, catalogs, and other printed matter;
- corporate websites, personal blogs, and other types of online presence;
- marketing collateral, such as brochures, reports, and packaging;
- a large number of custom applications.
The specific terms of usage are defined by the agency licensing the images on behalf of the photographer.
Using an image that already exists saves the buyer the time, expense, and uncertainty of organizing a custom photo assignment.
What is Royalty-Free Stock Photography ?
Royalty-Free is a type of a stock photography license that allows for the unlimited use of an image in any media, for any period of time, as defined in the licensing terms.
Royalty-Free, with its increased flexibility and reduced cost, is an evolution of the traditional Rights-Managed licenses. Under a Rights-Managed license, usage of an image is bound by a specific license that places constraints on the timeframe, the media, the audience/circulation, and other factors for publication.
Our images, licensed through the agencies listed on the left, are royalty-free — we believe this offers the best possible value for the buyer.
